Education
1988 Spent 3 months in Spain, making copies from Velasquez paintings at The Prado and in museums just outside of Madrid. 1985-1988 University of Northumbria, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, BA(Honours) in Fine Art

'I see painting portraits as a bit like creating a short film on canvas. The painter is distilling expressions from the sitter over a space of time but these are contained in one still image. I think a portrait works best when you feel the sitter's thoughts are unfolding in front of you, replaying moments of themselves in time'. |
